I was born and raised in Israel. As a child and adolescent I practiced gymnastics and athletics. I was very connected to my body and enjoyed exploring its limitations. Although competitive sports was the center of my life for many years, I did not want to make that my life's work. I saught a profession that would allow me to work with my hands and fulfill my calling to help others. Physical Therapy seemed like a perfect choice. I graduated in 1990 with a very solid foundation for my future work and studies in the world of healing.
My career as a traditional Physical Therapist in hospitals and outpatient clinics continued for about 10 years. I also served as the director of a Physical Therapy clinic in one of the major HMO's in Haifa, Israel, for several years.
As I was maturing as a therapist, my appetite for knowledge continued to grow. Along with many post graduate workshops in Physical Therapy, I also searched for other modalities that addressed the whole body. I was very lucky to study with many well- known therapists, teachers, role models and inspiring leaders in the world of holistic and integrative medicine.
I learned Advanced healing with Christine Page, MD, a renowned physician from England, who combines ancient teachings and modern science ; Cranio-Sacral Therapy |and |Somato-Emotional Releasethrough the Upledger Institute, I completed 5 levels of training; Integrative Somatic Training based on Moshe Feldenkrais principles, with Josef DellaGrotte, Ph.D. and Tom Myers, originator of the Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians; I|ntegrative Manual Therapy (IMT) with founder Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo, P.T., Ph.D.; Soul Lightening®Acupressure with the founder Aminah Raheem, Ph.D.; Zero Balancing®with the founder Fritz Smith, MD.
I have also participated in psychology workshops and courses that have the body experience
at their core. They are: Transpersonal Psychology, Body Oriented Psychology (Hakomi method) and Process Oriented Psychology or Process Work.
I feel blessed that most of my professional education involves the body as the main vehicle, as I consider personal experience as the best tool for learning.
I currently live in Houston, TX, and practice at the renowned Spectrum Center, where for the past 20 years traditional and non-traditional approaches to health, spirituality and lifestyle have been taught and practiced under the same roof, currently by 30 practitioners.
I am Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), certified in Zero Balancing®, and am the first and only certified practitioner of Soul Lightening® Acupressure in the state of Texas. I am enroled in the teacher trainings for both modalities and often give presentaions as well as teach stress release acupressure workshops for self care to other therapists and the public.
